The Monument Collection reimagines the structures of the ancient world through the lens of modern design.
The genesis of the M-Table came through my experience of the monumental El Castillo in Mexico. Its pyramidal structure forms the M Table’s grounding base.
Reminiscent of Constantin Brâncuși's sculptures, each part of the table (the base, support and top) are distinct in form and material. A slender metallic midsection lifts a floating marble top towards the sky.
If the M-Table is a study in balance, The M-Coffee Table is one of scale. The coffee table's proportions are follow Le Corbusier’s modular man and the classical Golden Section. Steps are carved from one corner with a ‘room’ on the other. Like a miniature Pantheon in Rome, an oculus creates the ‘ceiling’ of this ‘room,’ bringing light to its interior.
Designed with an eye for architectural detail, the Monument Collection is a testament to the permanence of natural materials and sculptural form.
